I have grown up in the sports/athletics world for as long as I can remember. Growing up I always thought I wanted to work in athletic training because I enjoyed human anatomy and sports. I thought this was my best fit for a career choice. Attending Temple University, I was originally accepted as a Health Professions major but had no clue what it would entail. I realized I did not enjoy the overall public health classes, rather I greatly loved the physiology and strength and conditioning classes. I found the exercise science program to be a focus on both physiology and strength and conditioning.
By my junior year I was ready to take my first internship where I landed here at Marinos Fitness. I was very nervous at first because I never really coached anyone in person before. This experience was going to be completely different than any class I took in college. After spending a couple weeks working with the staff here I absolutely loved it. I deeply enjoy coaching the general population and forming strong relationships with clients.
My final semester at school I interned at the CHOP in the cardiac exercise testing lab. This would serve as my clinical internship that I had been required to take for Temple. I was also extremely nervous because in school we did not learn a ton in depth about the clinical world. However, of course my favorite class I have taken at Temple over the four years was a clinical course- Exercise, Assessment, and Programming.
After recently graduating I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to continue my work here. I have great passion for the training style we do here and love to see how the clients benefit from continual training. I hope to be back in school in about a year or so going for my Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
I realized I absolutely love this atmosphere and the interactions I have here daily. I have always cared about my body's health, so it is not surprising to me that I ended up here.
